Nido/Nest
Nido, 2015-17, is a mixed-media installation where I explore the construct of identity in relationship with temporality and space. It is composed of photographs and found objects from Bomintzhá, Hidalgo, México. It highlights construction sites, their ecology and its influence in identity formation. Nido is rooted in the urban landscape of my childhood home. There, buildings undergo a constant transformation that is unmonitored, improvised, unstable, and unfinished which is analogous to identity itself.
