Toward Oblivion
In this ongoing photographic series, I confront and reflect on my aging process by photographing specific objects in my room that triggered such reflection; an article’s title, favorite cheap jewelry, ikea’s furniture, a mirror, etc. By using natural light, wilting flowers and grapes to represent the inevitability of decay as a way to document the passage of time. Toward Oblivion raises questions about womanhood, identity, and performativity. These series of photographs depict a sense of mortality, nostalgia, and fear of being forgotten.
